Wanted to throw some info out for you. The Board met
today and has come up with a couple of ideas and dates
for the upcoming season. Please pass this info along to
your guys.
First off, we could have as many as 14 teams this year!
We have already locked in some dates for the Senior
Center fields (which are field turf, so invest in some
good tennis shoes) and we are working on getting
everyone out for at least one game on Clark Field.
Second, we have an official Work Day for the league. It
is Saturday, March 8th from 9am to 3pm. Projects will
include putting up the new scoreboard, tearing down the
run down shed behind home plate, fixing the fences, and
a ton of other things. Here's the incentive for all
league members...EVERYONE that signs up for the work day
(and actually shows up and works) will get a refund of
$80. Therefore, the league fee of $275 becomes $195.
So, tell all of your players that are saying that they
don't have them money to show up for the work day and
lower their fee. The deadline for the $275 is Monday,
May 10th. The fee after May 10th goes up to $330. If a
player shows for the work day, but does not get in
before the deadline, they will still save $80, but their
fee will be $250.
Next, our mandatory manager's meeting will be Monday,
May 10th at Round Table Pizza ( 638 Cottonwood St.,
Woodland) at 6:30pm. If you can not show up, make sure
a member of your team is there to represent you.
To the potential new teams. I will probably be hounding
you once a week until the meeting to see how many guys
you have. Once you have 13 paid, I can put your team on
the schedule.
Finally, we will be having tryouts for new league
members on Sunday, May 2nd at 11:00am at Lee Field. I
recommend everyone try and show up...especially if you
are needing players.
That's about it for now. Please let me know if you
have any questions.
Thanks! |
